Bass Bar

To stem the pressure of the bridge and to distribute the vibrations evenly to the belly, a small strengthening device, the bass bar, is attached to the inside of the belly below the lower string. It is made of pine wood. It must be fitted very precisely as its position is crucial for the sound of the instrument.
