Here you can also hear a cello built by Haat-Hedlef Uilderks, built for John Myerscough in 2006, and one on which John won a solo competition in July. The quartet was chosen in July, 2007 to participate in the Melbourne Chamber Music Competition.

The Doric String Quartet also won the 6th Osaka International Chamber Music Competition in 2008.

The Quartet won the Musikfestspiele Mecklenburg Vorpommern 2008 the first Public's Choice Award for the best Ensemble.
